TPG Internet - ADSL2+ Super Fast Broadband Service up to 24Mbps

TPG is progressing strongly with our national rollout of ADSL2+ enabled exchanges. Customers in these areas will be able to connect to our own state-of-the-art DSLAM network and enjoy the benefits of our next-generation high-speed internet access at extremely competitive prices. More than 260 exchanges have already been enabled (providing ADSL2+ access to millions of Australians) and nearly 300 exchanges in total will be ready in the near future.

What is ADSL2+?
ADSL2+ is the next generation of ADSL broadband with download speeds typically much faster than regular ADSL. Regular ADSL broadband has download speeds between 256kbps and a maximum theoretical speed of 8Mbps. ADSL2+ will allow you to enjoy large file downloads, graphic intensive online gaming, online streaming TV and radio, VoIP phone service as well as new applications and services currently being developed for super speed connections. What sort of speeds can I expect on a TPG DSLAM?
To achieve optimal TPG ADSL2+ speeds, customers must use an ADSL2+ capable modem and have filters installed on all telephone outlets. 20%, 50%, 70% of these ADSL2+ customers are achieving speeds of approximately 20Mbps, 15Mbps and 10Mbps respectively.

Actual speeds achieved will vary due to a number of factors including distance from the local telephone exchange, network configuration and traffic, the quality of the customer’s copper phone line, EMI, cabling and equipment.

Construction of our ADSL2+ network is progressing quickly in many exchanges across Australia.
